The role of knowledge and technology transfer has developed considerably over the past few years. A contribution by Christian Stein in the recently published Ernst & Young German Biotechnology Report "Spot on Innovation" highlights the development of technology transfer in Germany and shows the importance of knowledge and technology transfer with regard to startups as well as in the development of new ideas and inventions from academia today and where there is potential for improvement.
