Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin  - a joint institution of the Freie Universität Berlin and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
The Charité is one of the largest university hospitals in Europe. Here, doctors and scientists heal, do research and teach at the top international level.  More than half of the German Nobel Prize winners in medicine and physiology come from the Charité, among them Emil von Behring, Robert Koch and Paul Ehrlich. The Charité also has an international reputation for excellence in training.

CAU - Kiel University
Kiel University is Schleswig-Holstein’s only fully-fledged university with a major focus on research. Over time, four dynamic priority research areas have systematically developed which are based on strong disciplines interacting together - Marine Science, Life Science, Societal and Cultural Change, and Nano Surface & Interface Science. Each individual research area makes a substantial contribution towards dealing with at least one of the grand challenges of our time.

MHH – Hannover Medical School
The Hannover Medical School (MHH) is one of the leading university medical centres in Germany. It has an outstanding reputation nationally and internationally, not only for medical care, but also in research. Over 1,200 scientists in 30,000 squaremeters of laboratory space contribute to this success.

MUI - Medical University of Innsbruck 

The Medical University of Innsbruck has approximately 2,000 employees and 3,000 students and, together with the University of Innsbruck, is not only the largest educational and research institution in western Austria, but also sees itself as the regional university for Tyrol, Vorarlberg, South Tyrol and Liechtenstein. The Medical University of Innsbruck is involved in numerous international educational and research programmes and networks. Research focuses on the areas of infectious diseases, immunology and transplantation, neuroscience and oncology. At the intersections of these main fields is the research area genetics–epigenetics–genomics.

University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG)

The Medical Faculty of the Georg-August-University as well as the University Hospital (UKG) are grouped together in the University of Göttingen. The UMG has developed two nationally and internationally recognized research areas in Neurosciences and Cardiovascular Sciences. In addition to these established research areas, which define the profile of the UMG, a possible future third research area may focus on "Specific Cancers and their Individualized Therapy”.
