Ascenion's workshops for the ‘Life Science Digital Hub’

Which market am I targeting with my business idea? Who are my potential customers? And who are my competitors? The answers to these questions help scientists make insight-driven strategic decisions.

We regularly offer webinars and workshops as part of our Life Science Digital Hub project (funding code: 03LW0585), which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) as part of GO-Bio initial.

Our 1.5-hour workshops – this quarter on the topic of market analysis – always include a theoretical part, followed by a practical exercise with various examples, a discussion of the exercise and a Q&A session.

  • The workshop on 25 June was entitled ‘Know your playground: Understanding your market’. The 20 participants explored the basics of assessing their market potential, defining their target market segment and learning why market analysis is not a one-off task. The speaker was Dr Rebekka Müller, Technology Scout at Ascenion.
  • On 9 July, Rebekka Müller led the workshop on ‘Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer: Understanding your competitive landscape’. This time 49 participants learned the basics of different types of competitor, how to analyse them and how to leverage this information to define their USP.
