The BNI, FZB and HPI have been working with Ascenion for more than six years now. Up to the beginning of 2012, the collaboration was co-funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, but from April 2012 the institutes have been financing their continued commitment to technology transfer from their own resources. ‘Technology transfer is a long-term business’, comments Dr Volker Uhl from the HPI. ‘We are continuing our partnership with Ascenion to further increase the efficacy of our technology transfer and help turn scientific results into applications which benefit the general public.’ Several technology transfer successes have already been achieved during the first six years of the partnership, primarily in the form of collaborations and material transfer agreements with industry.
