Under the programme ‘NEWTBVAC’, VPM (Vakzine Projekt Management GmbH) has teamed-up with 35 universities, research institutes and companies, mainly from Europe and Asia, to continue and further improve the discovery and preclinical development of new tuberculosis vaccines. The programme is managed by the TuBerculosis Vaccine Initiative (TBVI) and funded by the European Union under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). VPM currently has several vaccine candidates under development, the most advanced of which is in phase II studies for the prevention of tuberculosis. Further information at
