Up to EUR 370 million for improving therapies using personalized medicine

Good news for life-sciences research and industry in Germany: The federal government has published further details on the new ‘High-Tech Strategy 2020’. Among others, it has defined eleven ‘forward-looking projects’ as focus of future research and innovation policy. One of these is ‘treating illnesses more effectively with the help of individualized medicine’. In the context of this project, the federal government intends to support first and foremost initiatives that combine basic and clinical research with clear objectives and strategies for improving therapies and medical care.
