The new Innovative Training Network (ITN) ‘Advanced Machine Learning for Innovative Drug Discovery’ (AIDD) receives EUR 3.93 million from the European Union within the framework of the Marie-Skłodowska-Curie actions. The consortium and associated partners from around the world will offer comprehensive, structured training to 16 PhD students through a well-elaborated curriculum, online courses and schools. The partners will contribute top-notch expertise, data and fundamental algorithms to boost the development of innovative AI models that can predict medicinal chemistry outcomes.
‘Together, we are perfectly set to take drug discovery and optimization to a new level,’ says Dr Igor Tetko, group leader at the Helmholtz Zentrum München and scientific coordinator of the AIDD project.
Ascenion is one of the associated partners and will provide training on intellectual property in the context of the programme.
